Three Charging Technologies Used Most by Wireless Chargers

2019-8-20      View:

There are currently five main wireless charging standards: Qi standard, Power Matters Alliance (PMA) standard, Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) standard, iNPOFi technology, Wi-Po technology. And the main wireless charging technology in the market has three methods, namely electromagnetic induction, radio wave, and resonance, and Qi adopts the most main electromagnetic induction technology.

In terms of technology applications, Chinese companies have stood at the forefront of the wireless charging industry. It is reported that Qi's application products in China are mainly mobile phones, which is the first stage, and will be developed into digital products of different categories or higher power in the future. Here is a brief introduction to these three charging technologies.

Firstly, Electromagnetic induction

The primary coil has a certain frequency of alternating current, and a certain current is generated in the secondary coil by electromagnetic induction, thereby transferring energy from the transmitting end to the receiving end. This is the most common way wireless chargers work. It uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to generate current through electromagnetic induction between the primary and secondary coils, thereby enabling the transmission of energy in a spatial range. The implementation has been promoted by the Wireless Charging Alliance.

Secondly, Radio wave

Radio waves are a mature wireless charging method in the current stage of wireless charger development. Its working principle is to use the micro-efficient receiving circuit to capture the radio waves in space and then convert the electromagnetic energy into stable electric energy. This way you only need a transmitter that is mounted on the wall plug and a “mosquito” receiver that can be installed in any low voltage product. There are already companies claiming to be able to wirelessly charge electronic devices that are smaller than cellular phones a few meters away.

Thirdly, Electromagnetic resonance

It consists of an energy transmitting device and an energy receiving device. When the two devices are adjusted to the same frequency or resonate at a specific frequency, they can exchange energy with each other. It is a wireless charging technology that is still in the research and development stage. The technology was mainly researched by a team led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's physics professor. Based on this technology, Intel engineers used a technology to light a 60-watt bulb about 1 meter away from the power supply. And has a transmission efficiency of 75%. Intel engineers say the next goal will be to use a wireless charging technology to charge a modified laptop. However, in order to achieve this goal, it is also necessary to solve the interference and influence of electromagnetic fields on other components in the computer.

Finally, I want to say that YMP electromagnetic induction wireless charger is really good, worth having.
